Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the provisions of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (FADP), every person is entitled to the protection of their privacy and to protection against misuse of their personal data. We comply with these regulations. Personal data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither sold nor passed on to third parties.
You can visit our website without providing personal information. Our web hosting provider may collect access data (server log files) including: the accessed website, date and time of access, amount of data sent, referral source, browser used, operating system, and your IP address. This data cannot be attributed to a specific person and is not merged with other data sources.
This website can embed content from YouTube (operated by Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC). YouTube embeds are disabled by default and only load after you grant consent in the cookie banner or in cookie settings. When loaded, YouTube may set cookies, collect your IP address, and process usage data on Google servers (including transfers to the USA). For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
This website contains links to third-party websites (YouTube, Patreon, PayPal, etc.). We have no influence on the content or data protection practices of these external sites. Please refer to the respective privacy policies of those providers.
We distinguish between strictly necessary cookies (always active, required for the site to function) and optional cookies for analytics and embedded third-party content. Optional cookies and tracking technologies are only activated after your explicit consent via our cookie banner, in line with the Swiss FADP (nDSG) and the EU GDPR (Art. 6(1)(a)).
Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time on the cookie settings page or by clearing your browser's site data.
Subject to your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze how visitors use the site. The information generated (including a truncated/anonymized IP address) is transmitted to Google servers, including in the United States.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 31(1) FADP — your consent. We use Google Consent Mode v2, meaning no analytics cookies are set and no measurement data is sent before you accept. IP anonymization is enabled.
International data transfer: Google may transfer data to the USA. The transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC is certified, and on EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework provides an equivalent basis for transfers from Switzerland.
Retention: Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then automatically deleted by Google.
Withdrawal of consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time on the cookie settings page. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
We operate an email newsletter ("The Dispatch") to keep subscribers informed about the upcoming book release, major university collaborations, and occasional reader-only offers. The legal basis for processing your email address is your explicit consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 31(1) of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / nDSG).
Double opt-in procedure: after submitting your email address, you will receive a confirmation email containing a verification link. Your address is only added to the active mailing list once you click that link. We log the date, time, IP address and user agent of both the subscription request and the confirmation as proof of consent.
Email service provider: we use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), 106 Boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France, as our processor for sending newsletters. Brevo processes your data on our behalf in the EU under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). For transfers between Switzerland and the EU, the FADP and the Swiss-EU adequacy decision apply.
Withdrawal of consent: you can unsubscribe at any time using the one-click unsubscribe link in every newsletter email, or by contacting us. We retain consent records for as long as legally required to demonstrate compliance, and delete your address from the active list immediately upon unsubscription.
Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP / nDSG) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to data portability, the right to object to data processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us at the address above.
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. The current version published on our website applies.
